膜生物反应器的利用对水中氨氮去除可达90%以上,而且在抗冲击负荷能力方面有很大的优势。通常运行条件较为复杂时,相比活性污泥法,MBR去除有机物表现出很强的能力,出水水质较为良好且稳定,使污泥龄与水力停留时间实现完全分离。

另外,污泥混合液进行过滤过程中,因生物相沉积层在膜面作用下形成导致膜孔径缩小,采用MBR工艺可对病原微生物进行有效地截留,所以在去除病毒方面更具稳定性,这也就弥补了传统加氯消毒工艺的不足之处。
